U18 Competitive Team

This program is for advanced U18 and U21 athletes whose goals include competing and excelling at divisional, regional and national ski racing competition.

The goal is to advance each individual's skiing and racing skills to maximize their athletic potential, and to help build the discipline, drive, and determination to succeed in skiing as well as in life. The focus is on all aspects of competitive skiing, developing the technical and tactical skills for Slalom and Giant Slalom and Speed events.

  • PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

    For advanced U18 and U21 athletes whose goals include competing and excelling at divisional, regional and national ski racing competition.  

  • PROGRAM DATES AND DAYS

    • November training camp for extra fee - dates & location TBD
    • December 9 through March 24 
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 2-4pm on Chair 2 and/or 4-6pm on Heritage T-Bar
    • Saturday and Sunday 9am – 3pm with a break for lunch; Heritage T-Bar available 9-12
    • 5-day holiday camp December 27 – 31, 9am – 3pm with a break for lunch
    • Dryland conditioning training 2 -3 days per week starting in mid-July through mid-November
    • Physical assessment dates in May and September
  • PROGRAM DETAILS

    The focus is on all aspects of competitive skiing, developing the technical and tactical skills for Slalom and Giant Slalom and Speed events. 


    Training will include the following:

    • Gate training/competition simulation 60%
    • Coached drills/skills 20%
    • Coached free skiing 20%

    Competition opportunities include Northern Division Scored US Ski & Snowboard U18 events, Western Region FIS events and occasional travel to FIS events in Canada. Athletes learn to train their body and their mind for highly successful ski racing.

  • COSTS

    • $3,650 if registered and paid 75% on or before 9/30/23
    • $3,800 after 9/30/23
    • Payment plan available
    • Scholarships available
    • Coach travel expenses to races are invoiced equally to attending families
  • EQUIPMENT NEEDED

    • FIS approved hard shell ski helmet covering ears   
    • SL, GS, and SG skis meeting FIS requirement for length and turn radius; DH skis optional
    • SL protective gear: pole guards, chin guard, shin guards
    • Back protector for SG/DH
    • Mouth guard recommended

    • November Thanksgiving Camp - tentatively scheduled for 11/22-26 (extra cost) – in Panorama, BC.
