TOMMY HOOVER
U16 LEAD COACH
After working with the U14 comp team for several years, Tommy is moving up to lead the U16 team this season. Born and raised in Whitefish, Tommy grew up skiing and ski racing on Big Mountain. He is the father of 3 boys who have been or are in the race program. While in high school, Tommy competed in Northern Division Championships, Junior Olympic Races and the Doug Smith Downhill. Just out of high school he competed in his first gelande competition on Big Mountain and was hooked on the long distance ski jumping now known as Alpine Ski Jumping. He jumped competitively with the team for 20 years. Tommy is also an avid hunter and enjoys any time spent in the outdoors with his family. When he is not on the ski hill or in the woods, he is working as a builder for Hoover Construction. He is excited for the upcoming season and hopes to pass on his passion for skiing and ski racing. As a coach, he believes for athletes to reach their potential and achieve their goals it is important to have fun while working hard in training and competition. Level 200 US Ski & Snowboard Coach With FVSEF since 2018
