ERIK WILSON
DEVELOPMENT TEAM COACH
Coach Erik grew up in Whitefish skiing Big Mountain and on the race team. In addition to ski race competitions, Erik started ski jumping at age 16 in the Gelande jumping circuit, also known as Alpine Ski Jumping. He is the 2005 National Alpine Ski Jumping Champion and 2006, 2009, and 2021 Montana Snowbowl Gelande Champion and co-hill record holder. While a student at the University of Montana, Erik coached one year with the Missoula Ski Education Foundation race team.
A graduate of Whitefish High School and a University of Montana alum with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Erik owns and operates his own painting company in the Flathead Valley. He’s an outdoor enthusiast where you might run into him fly fishing, rafting, or chasing his two sons out in the wild. What he likes best about coaching for FVSEF is trying to have an impact on bettering kids’ skiing ability. This season is Erik’s 4th year as an FVSEF level 100 US ski and Snowboard coach and his 3rd year coaching the competitive development racing team.
