This program is our introductory program designed for skiers aged 7-12 with a basic foundation in parallel skiing looking to increase their technical skills.
The ALL MOUNTAIN RANGERS is our weekly introductory program which includes 16 full-day sessions December 17 - March 17 with a 4-day holiday camp December 27-30. You may choose to register for one of three different days: Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The Sunday program starts December 17 while the Friday and Saturday programs start December 22 and 23. There is no training on either December 24 or 31. Training is conducted from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM throughout the season. Lunch is not included or supervised.
The All-Mountain Ranger program is appropriate for emerging parallel to solid parallel skiers who have been skiing with parents and/or the ski school for two to five years. Participants are divided by age and ability into groups of about eight.
First-time participants, at a minimum, should have the following abilities:
• Ski green and blue runs with little or no hesitation; many will also be skiing black diamond runs.
• Make parallel turns at least half of the time.
• Load and ride the lift with little or no help from an adult.
• Put their skis on without assistance in most situations.
Coaches concentrate on developing the skills and confidence to ski all appropriate terrain and conditions. An introduction to competition gate skiing is included. Coaches also teach Rangers how to be the best citizens on the mountain - good behavior and a positive attitude are essential.
